Counting Down to October!

We’ve mentioned this before (Visit in October), but good news bears repeating. Our next Disneyland trip is right around the corner and the countdown is ON! (Thank goodness) It’s been almost 5 months since our last trip and we’re starting to go into serious D-land withdrawals. You know the kind where you see Mickey ears everywhere: pancakes, plates, tires… No, just us? Ok. We figured since Halloween time has officially started at the park that we would share some of our photos from our 2012 October trip. This was actually the trip that inspired us to start this blog, but we never did a full out trip report so here it is now, released from the vault.  Enjoy!

We always recommend grabbing one of these handy park guides at the front gates. Not only are they super helpful, but they also make for a great memento 🙂

We love Main Street all year round, but there’s just something about this Halloween flare!

It's Always Time for Halloween Time by 2 Miss Mouses

We actually rode Thunder Mountain Railroad right before it closed for refurbishment. We lucked out big time because it’s one of our absolute favorites. Plus check out Hayley’s well timed/placed photo bomb. A classic.

If you get a chance, head over to Frontierland. Personally, we think they have the perfect October-esque decorations…plus who doesn’t love a pumpkin-scarecrow-hillbilly?

Yo Ho! A Pumpkin's Life for Me by 2 Miss Mouses

Last year, the park really outdid itself with these pumpkins. Make sure and check out the Halloween Carnival at Big Thunder Ranch. You will not be disappointed. Voila Mickey Mouse pumpkin.

And our particular favorite “Sparky” from Frankenweenie (it came out last year, remember?)

OK this is so dweebie that even we are a little bit embarrassed. We had quite the celebrity citing on this trip. We were finally trying Flo’s V-8 Cafe when Hayley looked out the window and said, “Is that Vanna White?”

Turns out, it totally was!

Vanna White at Disneyland by 2 Miss MousesWheel of Fortune was filming at Disney California that week! PS it was super windy that day, but Vanna’s hair did not move at all because Vanna is perfect. So there’s a snippet of last year’s Disney October fun. We can’t wait to share our pictures after this upcoming trip (only 3 weeks left!) Heads up, there will be pumpkins 🙂

Around the Web: “The 16 Funniest YouTube Comments on Disney Movie Clips”

This article from Buzzfeed: “The 16 Funniest YouTube Comments on Disney Movie Clips” gave us one of the best Disney-related laughs that we’ve had in awhile (yes, we have Disney-related laughs more often than you’d think). Heads up, the article has some swearing in it, but we find it beeping hysterical. Here’s a sampling of our favorites and might we add, they make some excellent points.

Tip: Visit in October

Disney Tip: Visit in October by 2 Miss Mouses

Guess who just got their tickets to Mickey’s Halloween Party? We’ve never been to the party before, but this year we just couldn’t resist the chance to dress up and eat all the Halloween candy in the park. Plus, we hear that Disney villains will be roaming around, which will make the costumes we’re planning even more spook-tacular (see what we did there?) We’ve always said that October is a great time to visit the park. The crowds can be a little crazy, but the pumpkins on Main Street rock our socks.  Seriously, we cannot wait! Have any of you been to Mickey’s Halloween Party before? We 2 Miss Mouses are dying to know more…moowahahahaha (evil laughter).
