We’re back with Part 2 of our May 2013 Trip Report. We started our Saturday at the park with an early morning visit to Radiator Springs.
Getting our kicks on Route 66!
Making our way to the front of the line.
Carsland is amazing y’all. If you haven’t been yet, GO! Oh and hello, Mr. Curb Feeler.
Thank goodness we made it to DCA early. By the time we made it to Midway Mania the line was…
only 10 minutes long 🙂
We’re split on Symphony Swings…some of us love it (Maren) and some of us call it an exercise in terror (Hayley)
We grabbed a fast pass for Soarin’ Over California and then watched Minnie’s Fly Girls. This show is adorable. Gorgeous harmonies ( a la the Andrew Sisters) and you haven’t lived till you’ve seen Minnie Mouse speak-sing “Come Fly With Me.”
As you might already know, this trip was our special gift to our mom for Mother’s Day. She’s so wonderful that we decided to treat her to a lunch at Carthay Circle. It was a really special meal from start (fried biscuits) to finish (lemon pound cake with blueberries). If you’re planning any special events at the resort in the future, definitely consider the Carthay. It just can’t be beat!
Like we mentioned- this palace/restaurant serves fried biscuits stuffed with white cheddar, bacon and jalapeno. Ummmm…yeah…we’re moving in.
By the time we made it back to the park after a quick nap-ride at the hotel, we ran into a bit of a crowd on Main Street.
But it was nothing a little Tomorrowland couldn’t fix.
Oh and we had to have a little fried chicken at Plaza Inn…you know to go with those fried biscuits we had at Carthay.
We roamed around Fantasyland (which only becomes more beautiful after dark) and stopped by the Mad Hatter’s shop. Now we all have Minnie ears!
The day ended with moonlight & Main Street. Just like we like it.
